Welcome Baby Sister | Cozy Newborn Studio Session

There’s something so special about welcoming a newborn into a family, and this session in my cozy Exeter, RI studio was one of those moments that truly captured the love and connection of a growing family.

This beautiful Navy family of five came in to celebrate the arrival of their baby girl, and from the moment they walked through the door, I could feel the excitement (and a little bit of that fun, energetic big-brother energy!). With two older brothers ready to dote on their new sister, the session was filled with sweet sibling snuggles, soft kisses, and those tender in-between moments that make lifestyle photography so meaningful.

We started with family portraits, keeping things natural and relaxed—just the way I love to approach newborn sessions. The boys were so proud to show off their baby sister, and they even gave me the most heart-melting smiles while holding her. I always encourage playfulness during sibling shots, and these two brought the perfect mix of love and laughter.

Then, we moved into some intimate parent-baby moments. Mom looked absolutely radiant as she held her sweet girl, and Dad—who serves in the Navy—had such a quiet strength about him as he cradled his newest little love. It was important to me to capture both the tender and joyful sides of their growing family, making sure their photos reflected this beautiful season of their lives.

Of course, baby girl stole the show with her soft features and tiny fingers curled up perfectly. We wrapped her in neutral tones to keep the focus on her highlighting all those newborn details that change far too quickly.

Sessions like these remind me why I love what I do—freezing fleeting moments so families can hold onto them forever.
